Pharmacy Technician Requirements in Arizona

The state of Arizona requires pharmacy technicians to obtain state licensure and be PTCB certified in order to work in the state. When considering a school’s pharmacy technician training program make sure it includes an externship.  Most of the Arizona Pharmacy technician schools listed below require students to complete an externship as part of their training program.  However before starting their externship, pharmacy tech students will need to obtain a Trainee License from the Arizona Board of Pharmacy. The Trainee license is good for two years and also allows graduates to work while they are taking the necessary steps to pass the PTCB certification exam. Once certified, the technician can apply for full Arizona licensure. More information regarding licensure can be obtained by contacting the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy .
